Happy Birthday Mama: Here’s To Another Year of Awesomeness

My mama is a lot of things. She’s caring, unbelievably resilient, and most of all, beautiful. At certain times during her life, I know she has doubted all of these things but none the less, they are all true. She inspires me with all that she does and all that she chooses not to do. So here’s to you, Mama. Here’s to another year of awesomeness.

Mama,

Thanks for giving up a career to stay home with us. I know you could have done a lot of things and I’m grateful that you chose us as your job.

Thanks for teaching me how to read, write, and do math. I now love two out of three of those things.

Thanks for taking me to my first ballet and than encouraging my own passion for dance.

Thanks for all the laundry, dishes, and cleaning you’ve done over the years. It hasn’t gone unnoticed and now that I’m older, I understand the struggle with getting spaghetti sauce stains off of white clothing.

Thanks for helping me through the last year. You’ve been there for the hospital stay, the 6 months at treatment, and beyond. You listened to me as I cried, ranted, and celebrated my successes.

But most of all, thanks for just being my mom. It’s been a rough few years as we’ve moved from one place to another and dealt with the stress of financial difficulties. But you stayed strong, while still being vulnerable about how you felt.

Remember, you are stronger than you know and more beautiful than you can imagine. I hope this is the year you realize that for yourself.

Love,

Sarah

    1. Lol, in trying to post that comment I accidentally un-followed you. It’s the new WordPress thing where it pops up the follow button at the bottom of my screen. Helpful sometimes, but gets in the way most of the time. *sigh* I re-followed you, though! 😀
